Our Coaches

Phil Togno is entering his second season as Head Coach of West Morris Central and is in his 21st year of coaching.  Prior to coaching, Phil played Division III hockey for La Salle University.  Phil began coaching in 1996, coaching the Long Valley Wolfpack Pee Wees.  He then coached the NJ Lightning Pee-Wees from 1998-2001.  In 2001, Phil served as WMC JV Ice Hockey Coach.  Phil coached the Blizzard U16AA team from 2002-2005.  He also served as Parsippany Hills High School Head Coach during the same time period.  From 2005-2007 Phil was named Skylands Kings Director of Hockey Operations.  He served as Head Coach for Jefferson High School from 2006-2011, and coached his team to a NJ State Final in 2008.  Phil coached for the NJ Freeze from 2010-2015 at the Mite, Squirt and U18 levels.  Phil has coached the NJ Colts at the Squirt, Pee Wee and U18 levels from 2015 to present.  Phil resides with his wife and children in Long Valley. 
Derek Skoldberg is a graduate of WMC and played Lacrosse all 4 years of High School.  Derek helped to lay the groundwork to bring Hockey to WMC.  Growing up playing hockey from age 11, he has always had the passion for playing hockey.  Derek played DIII Lacrosse at Eastern University.  He has coached Lacrosse for both Boonton and Morristown, and for the past 8 years has coached Lacrosse for Randolph at the Freshman, JV and Varsity levels.  He is excited to return for his second year to coach WMC hockey.
