12-14-2008 JV GAME:
West Morris tops Randolph 4-3 in an Overtime Shootout
West Morris Central JV Ice
Hockey (1-1) got its first win on Sunday in an overtime shoot out thriller
against Randolph High School. West Morris came out strong but found themselves
down 1-0 by the end of the 1st period. Trevor Peirson evened up the score in
the second period , but Randolph would soon take the lead again. West Morris
pushed forward and tied it late in the third, on a goal by Tanner Muscatella
They would later take the lead on a goal by Ryan Cramer. That lead would be
short lived when Randolph tied it seconds later. With the game tied after
regulation it came down to a shot out. All three players, Ryan Cramer, Tanner
Muscatella, and Trevor Peirson scored in their shootout attempt, and goalie
James de Iturrondo did his part by stopping one of the two shots faced to cap
off a masterful performance by the freshman goalie. In the end it was a great
win for West Morris, beating Randolph for the first time, giving them a great
deal of momentum going into next Sundays game.
West Morris is eager to take on
Morristown next. The game starts at 7pm this coming Sunday (12/21) at Aspen in
Randolph.
