MINUTES

September 12, 2006

 

Attendance:  Donna Saporito, Linda Scerbo, Bill Martin, Karen Muscat, Dom Bastello,

Kathy Sommerkorn, Ed Sommerkorn, Wayne Zoeller, Barbara Zoeller, Tim Gelsinger,

Ann Terese Soares, Keith Shultis, Peter Halko, Gail Halko, June Jeske,  Mike Jeske, Robin Gibbon,  Mike Roscigno, Marianne  deIturrondo,  Tricia Williams, Tom Pinto, Eddie Esposito, Kent Schilling,

Denis  Stypulkoski, Thomas Stadtland, Doug Rentsch, and Rob Villano.

 

Call to Order: 7:40 PM 

 

President’s Remarks: Next meeting TBA.

  • Welcomed all parents.
  • Face-Off Dinner is Friday November 17th.  Uniforms will be given out. Spirit wear will be available. Player’s pictures will be taken that evening.
  • 33 players this upcoming season.  Health forms due November 1st.  
  • Linda will check with Aspen for photographer.
  • Banner size needed for Aspen is 9x7.  Gail Halko will check for price with her company.
  • We need to order some new replacement uniforms.  Boat jackets will be ordered this week.

 

Vice President’s Report:   

  • Aspen camp went very well.  Attendance was 24 kids.
  • Tryout dates are November 15th and 16th.  
  • Tentative practice times are Monday 9:30 pm, Wednesday 9:00 pm, and        

       Thursday 9:15 pm.

     

Secretary’s Report:  Please sign the attendance sheet going around.

  • September Minutes were accepted by Donna Saporito and Ed Sommerkorn.

 

Treasurer’s Report: 

  • Budget needs an addition $3,000 to cover new uniforms, shells, socks, and jerseys.
  • Tentative costs for season are $1,050 for Varsity and $850.00 for JV.
  • First deposit of $500.00 for  upcoming season is due October 1st.  Balance is due Nov 1st. 
  • Accepted by Wayne Zoller and Gail Halko.

 

Coach’s Comments: 

  • Working on season schedules. League games are scheduled. Non-league games are still being worked on. Weight Training can be done instead of gym classes (MWF).

 

Athletic Director’s Comments: 

  • Cancellation policy follows school closings. Ice time is cancelled only if school is closed. Posted on school website.  Rink has a zero tolerance policy !!!!  No garbage, no mess teams need to keep locker-room clean.
  • Schedules should be available by September 20th .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Old Business:

1.        Signs:  Wayne Zoller has signs and needs a new storage location. Volunteers need to put up signs.  Captains will be responsible for changing sign times and dates.

 

2.       Fundraising:

·         Dom Bastello has Shoprite/A&P cards. Keep buying !!!!  Checking into obtaining Weiss cards.

·         Restaurant Night at Valley Pizza is September 27th. We will receive 15% of sales. Valley Restaurant scheduled for October 9th.  Possible upcoming restaurants are Caruso’s, Salerno’s, and the Brew Pub.  More info to follow.

·         Football Concession stand is October 20th.  Tricia Williams will take the Food Handlers Course.  We need everyone’s help (work, setup, and cleanup).

·         Spirit wear:  Bill ordered hockey bags. Logo needed for Captains shirts.  Aspen can

      sell our Spirit wear at their Pro-Shop.

.    Ad Journal update. No one has turned in any Ads yet. Return ASAP to Gail Halko.

      Players earn 50% of sales. Tuition can be paid off by selling hockey ads.

 

 

New Business:

 

  1. Banquet - Location is moved back to High School due to costs.  Trying to keep costs down.
  2. Helmets – Varsity will get navy blue helmets through fundraising. Nike Bauer 4500 is stocked by Aspen.
