MINUTES

November 14, 2006

 

Attendance:  Donna Saporito, Linda Scerbo Tom Scerbo, Bill Martin, Karen Muscat,

Kathy Sommerkorn, Ed Sommerkorn, Wayne Zoeller,  Kent Schilling,

Peter Halko, Gail Halko, June Jeske, Mike Jeske, Robin Gibbon, Tricia Williams,

Tom Pinto, Eddie Esposito, Mike Monaco, Robin Gibbon,

Nancy Olivo, Thomas Stadtlander, Doug Rentsch, and Rob Villano.

 

Call to Order: 7:35 PM 

 

President’s Remarks: Next meeting December 12th.

  • Linda could not reach two new players.
  • Thanked Gail Halko for her hard work on the Ad Journals.
  • Practices/games will be cancelled due to inclement weather.
  • Alumni game is scheduled for December 26th. Seniors and Varsity will play.

 

Vice President’s Report:   

  • We currently have 355.00 towards helmets due to fundraising.
  • Mike Jeske would like both Varsity and JV have blue helmets.
  • Monday November 20th fundraiser will be at Valley Restaurant.

      Future fundraisers will be held IHop and Long Valley Pizza.

     

Secretary’s Report:  Please sign the attendance sheet going around.

  • October Minutes were accepted by Bill Martin and Robin Gibbon.

 

Treasurer’s Report: 

  • June distributed the financial report. We realized a 400.00 profit from concession stand.

Coach’s Comments: 

  • We need a volunteer to take pictures and take over for Daphne Hunt.
  • Coach Jacobsen will deal with any academic or disciple issues.

      He will be available on Tuesday afternoons in the high school.

  • The December 9th game will be reschedule due to conflict with Semi-Formal.  .
  • Missed practice will be reviewed on an individual basis.
  • Locker room must be kept clean.  Coaches will be doing locker room inspection.     
  • Aspen has improved ice times.
  • Dress Code for all games is boat jackets, khaki pants, dress shoes, shirt and tie.

 

 

Athletic Director’s Comments: 

 

  • The school will cover helmet costs and maintenance.  Players must be fitted for helmet prior to tryouts at Aspen.  Parents are responsible for the cost for an

      upgraded helmet.

  • Physicals are mandatory. Drug testing form must be signed by both player and parent.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Old Business:

1.        Signs:  Ed Sommerkorn, Rob Villano, Bill Martin, and Wayne Zoeller will do sign setups. Mike Monaco will take over Signs next year. Captains are responsible for changing sign times and dates.

 

2.       Fundraising:

·         Dom Bastello has Shoprite/A&P cards. Keep buying !!!!

·         Bill Martin ordered hockey bags and XXL sweatshirts.

·         Ad Journal is almost complete. There are a total of 60 ads which is more than last year.

      Great Job Gail !!!

·         Tricia Williams thanks all for a successful concession stand. Chile was excellent

      and hot chocolate was our best seller !!!!!  March 25th is our banquet date.  

  

 

New Business:

 

  1. Bylaws:  Mike Jeske will head committee.  Linda Scerbo and Ed Sommerkorn will assist. Volunteers are still needed.
